1 October, 2023 – Public education on net zero is insufficient as 46% of people surveyed reveal that they do not know what net zero means or have never heard of it. However, remaining voters express their endorsement for meeting critical targets. Many believe the government is not doing enough to meet targets.

Energy bill help urged by MPs to stave off winter crisis

24 September, 2023 – A group of MPs are urging the UK Government and energy suppliers to step up their support to vulnerable households as the UK enters another “inevitable new winter crisis”. Last year, £440 million of government support was returned to the Treasury and MPs say eligible households should receive their payment.

15 September, 2023 – EDF Renewables UK has secured approval for three grid-scale battery sites in Kent with construction expected to begin in early 2024. EDF plans to deliver up to 2GW of transmission-connected battery storage through its nationwide rollout of Energy Superhubs.

11 September, 2023 – The UK’s first-ever heat pump installer apprenticeship is set to receive government funding to train 57,000 heat pump installers by the end of the decade. This will help achieve the government’s target of installing 600,000 heat pumps by 2028 whilst developing a workforce with skills to fit heat pump systems efficiently.
