They have also offered to match any other lower price that is being offered by a competitor that is MCS credited. This comes as an effort to push net zero goals and encourage low-carbon solutions.

Energy bill support for firms to be reduced from April

10 January, 2023 – The government is phasing out the current energy support scheme for businesses and introducing a new scheme in April 2023. This new scheme will give a discount on wholesale costs, rather than capping the prices which exist under the current scheme.

Wind generated a record amount of electricity in 2022

6 January, 2022 – The National Grid has stated that wind power produced a record amount of electricity in the UK throughout 2022. Although gas remained the largest source of electricity last year, the increase in generation from sources such as wind power alongside other renewable options show significant and important progress.

Energy crisis: MPs call for ‘war effort’ on insulation

5 January, 2022 – MPs from across the political spectrum have insisted a “war effort” is needed to improve the energy efficiency of UK homes to the standards required to meet net zero targets. A damning statistic is quoted that 78% of the UK’s energy needs are still being powered from fossil fuel sources.
