8 June, 2023 – UK-based renewable energy developer Exagen has confirmed a 12.5MW hybrid solar and battery installation in Northumberland on the site of a former coal mining site. The grid capacity and infrastructure surrounding the site allow for quick grid connection. The site is expected to generate approximately 53,000MWh annually.

7 June, 2023 – Ofgem has accepted the duty of helping meet Net Zero by 2050. The amendment to the Energy Bill aims to protect the interest of existing and future gas and electricity consumers. The reformed Energy Bill aims to end our dependency on fossil fuels and exposure to the volatile global market.

Science-based targets for nature launched for businesses

24 May, 2023 – The Science Based Targets Network has launched the first science-based targets initiative for businesses. This will allow companies to assess their environmental impact and address these issues with science-based solutions. An initial pilot phase will take place this year, with a full rollout expected next year.
