OnGen Chair Judith Halkerston awarded OBE

January 12, 2021
We are delighted to announce that Judith Halkerston, Chair of OnGen, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honors list 2021 for her services to The Digital Economy.

Judith has been typically gracious in discussing this, although she commented,

“I am incredibly honoured and humbled to have been given this accolade. Having been fortunate to enjoy a long career, predominantly in large scale IT service companies, I have enjoyed in more recent years working with startups. This is a challenge that I find educational, exciting and immensely rewardingSeeing these companies grow and flourish in such a fast-paced sector is a passion of mine, and I’m so grateful to be able to share some of the knowledge I’ve accumulated during my 40-year career to help businesses such as OnGen succeed. I’ve been lucky to meet some very bright, talented people during my career and bringing some of these connections together in order to help businesses achieve their goals is something that I love doing and hope to continue to do in the future.”

Chris Trigg, OnGen’s co-founder and Managing Director, commented,

“The team at OnGen congratulates Judith in receiving this richly deserved accolade. We are fortunate to have had her on board as the chair of OnGen, almost from inception, developing the OnGen Expert, at a time where the initial concept was described as ‘before our time’.

This honour is a testament to not only a commitment to the Digital Economy but also her eye for innovation and helping to drive and grow start-up businesses. At OnGen, we are all committed to using technology to address climate change, turning zero carbon commitments into reality. We are very fortunate to have this level of expertise, support and wealth of experience to help develop and grow OnGen. This is evident in the breadth of public and private sector organisations we are helping to deliver net-zero commitments.

Despite the challenges of recent times, OnGen has recorded exponential growth and we look forward to exciting months ahead.”

OnGen has developed award-winning digital tools to identify the best business case to support the deployment of onsite renewables and energy efficiency interventions.  OnGen is the link between net zero commitments and deployment of zero-carbon solutions through identifying the opportunities with the greatest return on investment and producing the business case to support the funding required.
